As per confirmation of the National Authority for Tunnels, the unique and highly efficient performance of (Martrans) in transportation and marine insurance activities for materials, equipments, and units of the Second Line of Grater Cairo Underground during the last thirteen years, expedited the accomplishment of this project.

Martrans's great achievement in this project was of great support to it concluding a contract with Martrans to perform the transportation and marine insurance activities for tractors, equipments, units and materials, which will be imported for the first stage of the Third Line of Cairo underground (extending from Ataba to Al Abasia Square). This stage will be accomplished in four years at total cost of (4.8 billion Egyptian Pounds) taking into consideration that the Third line is planned to be accomplished on four stages lasting for (16 years) at total cost more than (18 billion Egyptian pound)
